PREMIUM PERFORMANCE 

Debuting with a 3.5-litre direct-injected i-VTEC V6 engine that produces 290 horsepower and 267 lb.ft. of torque, the new MDX is designed to perform and get your heart racing. The 10-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift seamlessly shifts gears providing efficiency when cruising or a more aggressive throttle response when desired.  Each model is equipped with Acura’s industry leading Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) that uses torque-vectoring technology to give you better traction in poor weather conditions and improved cornering performance. With 5 drive modes to choose from including Comfort, Normal, Sport, Snow, and Individual,  you can choose the mode that suites your driving style or the conditions best.

ENGINEERED FOR EXCELLENCE

The new double-wishbone suspension and longer wheelbase deliver a highly responsive and dynamic drive allowing you to unlock the full potential of the MDX. This longer body style with a tapering cabin create a bold appearance while increasing interior space. To maximize performance and efficiency, Acura has included an Active Shutter Grille that will open and close the shutter on the lower front grille to divert air around the vehicle to reduce aerodynamic drag. Once the demand for cool air has increased, the shutters will re-open.

THE DYNAMIC TYPE S

Coming later in 2021 is the all-new high performance Acura MDX Type S. This is the first Acura SUV to receive the high performance Type S nameplate. Additional exterior changes featured on the Type S will be an open diamond mesh grille, quad exhaust tips, and a gloss black trim. The MDX Type S will be equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged DOHC V6 engine that produces 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft. of torque. This model will also come standard with 21″ wheels, 4-piston Brembo front brake callipers, performance air suspension, and advanced Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™. The interior will receive changes as well including available massaging front seats with colours and trim exclusive to the Type S model. The Signature Edition ELS STUDIO 3D premium audio system will also be included which features 25 speakers that produce 1,000 watts of power making it the most advanced and powerful audio system ever for the MDX.

BOLD EXTERIOR

The fourth generation MDX communicates power and performance through the intricately sculpted Acura signature Diamond Pentagon front grille, aggressive hood lines, and the new four-lamp Jewel Eye® LED headlights with embedded Chicane™ daytime running lights. The three-dimensional sculpting under the headlights visually widen the front of the MDX to blend the fog light housing below. A pronounced beltline then draws your eye to the dramatic Chicane™ LED taillights for a premium look. The aggressively wide stance and pronounced body lines enhances its muscular proportions from any view, redefining the art of performance.

New wheel and tire options for the MDX are designed to give the SUV a stronger, more powerful presence while complimenting the aggressive exterior stylings. Now you will have the option to equip the vehicle with 20″ tires and you can choose the rims that suit the vehicle and your colour choice best.

INTERIOR

Refined and designed with the driver in mind, the cabin is a testament to luxurious craftmanship. Premium materials like the available open-pore wood, aluminum accents and full-grain Milano leather available for all three rows of seating make the MDX a high-end experience for every occupant. The drivers seat has an available 16-way power adjustable seat with heating, ventilation and three position memory. The second row features a multi-functional middle seat that allows for 3 different layouts to choose from including a bench seat for 3 passengers, captains chairs with an armrest in the middle (folded down middle seat) or a wide passthrough for access to third row (remove middle seat). Changes to the third row include more legroom, a higher seating position, and available USB charging ports. With a standard panoramic moonroof on every model, each passenger can enjoy an open and airy feeling while in the cabin.

The new design of the MDX has allowed for even more interior space for passengers and items alike. With all of the seats upright the interior offers 16.3 cu.-ft of cargo space which can be increased to 71.4 cu.-ft when all the seats are folded down giving you ample room to transport people, belongings, or both. There is also storage under the floor behind the third row that offers additional space to store your items that has been increased in size from previous years.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

New to the 2022 MDX is Acura’s all-digital Precision Cockpit™ that replaces the physical gauges with a 12.3″ high definition screen. This new display will show the driver information in a personalized fashion by giving the driver a choice between two distinct appearances and allowing them to select information they want to see within the gauge cluster such as navigation, trip computer, AcuraWatch™, G-meter, and more. The available 10.5″ full colour Head-Up Display shows important information to the driver within their line-of-sight so they can see vehicle speed, safety alerts, incoming phone and text messages, and more without their eyes leaving the road. The SUV also features the latest in Acura technology with a full high definition 12.3″ infotainment screen. This display works seamlessly with the improved True Touchpad Interface that includes Acura’s exclusive “absolute positioning” to make interactions with the screen easy and intuitive.

INTUITIVE CONNECTIVITY

The MDX features standard wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ as well as a wireless charger so you can connect with ease without the need of any cables. The centre console contains USB-C and USB-A inputs for fast charging or devices not compatible with wireless charging. Alexa Built-in and WiFi hot spot keep you and your devices connected safely while giving you voice command capability. With the latest generation of AcuraLink™, you can access a suite of cloud based applications that allow you to access features such as remote lock/unlock, remote start, remote diagnostics, Acura concierge service, and more. Now with available CabinTalk™ you can stay connected to those in the vehicle more easily as well. CabinTalk™ amplifies voices in the front seats by projecting it over the speakers so that passengers in the second and third row can better understand passengers at the front of the vehicle.

INTUITIVE SAFETY AND DRIVER ASSIST TECHNOLOGIES

Every MDX model comes standard with Acura’s advanced AcuraWatch™ safety and driver assistant technologies. New features for 2022 include Traffic Jam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Pedestrian Detection, Low Speed Braking Control and Driver Attention Monitor. Traffic Jam Assist works with adaptive cruise control by keeping the vehicle in its lane while maintaining a set distance from the vehicle ahead.  Traffic Sign Recognition will display information on your screen such as speed limits as they change so you are following a safe speed while driving. Pedestrian detection uses sensors and radar to detect pedestrians and alert you if there is someone near the vehicle. Low Speed Braking Control uses the parking sensors to detect hazards while moving at a slow speed and in the event a collision is imminent, the system will automatically apply the brakes to avoid or mitigate the impact.

BUILT TO PROTECT

Built with Acura’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, the MDX has been enhanced to provide more protection for all passengers in the vehicle. This structure is designed to absorb more of the impact from a collision and redistribute the force away from the cabin to help reduce injury. Improvements have also been made to the side of the vehicle to reduce intrusion should there be an impact to the side of the vehicle. New on the 2022 MDX is Acura’s award-winning next-generation airbag technology that is designed to provide better protection for passengers in the front seat by providing a cradle-like airbag around passengers heads to reduce or mitigate potential injury especially in angled collisions.
